About artist
Aldo Pallanza, born into a family of shoe craftsmen, followed the family traditions and became a skilled shoe designer. His passion for design attracted the attention of Luigi Barni, director of the Saporiti Institute, who encouraged him to attend the Art School of the Roncalli Institute. Despite receiving the Ornati Prize and the opportunity to enter the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, his family insisted that he work at a local shoe factory, where he specialised in pattern making.
While working and fulfilling family obligations, Pallanza pursued his true passion for easel painting. He developed a special technique for painting reptile skins and became a teacher in a shoe-making course. Dissatisfied with the figurative approach, he sought the guidance of Fulvio Belmontesi and incorporated the 'symbol' into his work, resulting in emotionally charged paintings.
Pallanza describes the creative process as a mental journey, in which figurative elements serve as a starting point for an imaginative exploration. Through his experiments with materials and colours, he has always achieved captivating results, drawing viewers into a world of fantasy. His artistic style has evolved from traditional figurative to embrace the realm of informal art.
Throughout his career, Pallanza has participated in several exhibitions. Highlights include winning the '3rd Sacred Heart Trophy' in Vigevano, group exhibitions in prestigious galleries and solo shows in renowned venues such as Palazzo Roncalli and Vigevano Castle. His collaboration with the Syncron Gallery in Brescia has led to his works being exhibited in international venues, including the Sharjah Art Museum, the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Galeria Graphica in Caracas.
