About artist
Fernando Tam
A photographer for almost twenty years, Fernando Tam has received several honours by participating in various solo and group exhibitions both nationally and internationally. For the past five years, he has discovered pictophotography, putting all his imagination into the field by combining painting with his photographs.
In January 2018, one of his works is exhibited at Artexpo Winter Rome, another in September of the same year is at the 8th International Art Biennale in Monte Carlo. Group art exhibitions include the Milan Biennale 2019, Art Basel in Miami 2019 and Arte Expò Dubai in 2021.
One of his particular works was among the finalists of the 19th Cairo Prize Milan.
Rather than classical landscapes, Fernando Tam likes to photograph subjects in their everyday life or find the captivating detail to be then revised by adding materials or colours, thus giving vent to his exuberant creativity.
The curiosity of his works lies in understanding where the photograph begins and the painting ends.
For him, the combination of photography and painting becomes a genre that is extremely capable of striking him and leading him to action right from the start. Fernando Tam had started with acrylic colours and then switched to enamel, not finding the former satisfactory for his needs. Persevering in the study of technique and the use of new materials and colours led the artist to achieve an excellent and well-established effect. His works have an excellent sales response from both collectors and enthusiasts.
