About artist
Antonio Zuccon was born in Mogliano Veneto and currently lives and works in Treviso. An eclectic and talented artist, he graduated in mathematics from the University of Padua, but also has a solid career as an opera singer. A pupil of renowned maestro Marcello Del Monaco, Zuccon played the role of baritone comprimario, recording Nino Rota's opera “Una vita meravigliosa” in Rovigo. Rota, a composer known for the soundtracks of Fellini's films, had a decisive influence on his musical training.
In 1984 Antonio Zuccon approached photography, immediately distinguishing himself with a personal and unmistakable style. His mathematical training emerges clearly in his images, which break reality down into tiny fragments, then recompose them according to a strict geometric pattern. Not surprisingly, Zuccon is co-author of two volumes of geometry for high schools, published by Atlas Edizioni of Bergamo.
In 1998, he published the volume “Quadrigrafie®,” a collection of photographic compositions that allowed him to establish himself among the most creative photographers in Italy. His works explore abstract worlds, characterized by a perfect balance between rationality and lyricism, where lines, surfaces, colors and geometry dominate space in infinite numerical relationships. Each of his photographs is a complex plot, made of visual illusions and unexpected connections, returning a subjective and innovative vision of everyday reality.
Zuccon's work has been enthusiastically received by critics, and has been reviewed in numerous specialized magazines, including *Zoom*, *Il Fotografo*, *FOTO cult*, *Fotografare*, *Reflex* and *Tutti Fotografici*. His works have been exhibited in prestigious art galleries and supported by various public institutions, including the Municipality of Cesenatico, Conegliano, Sestri Levante, the Cassamarca Foundation, and the Municipalities of Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia, which are also often the protagonists of his photographs.
In 2011 the National Museum of Photography in Brescia awarded him the prize for “Best Italian Photographer of Small Villages,” recognizing the uniqueness and importance of his work. Zuccon has also published ten volumes with the publisher Vianello Libri, in which he chronicles the beauty of villages and city corners in Friuli Venezia Giulia and Veneto.
Many important brands, including *Leica Italia*, *Fujifilm Italia*, *Fowa Hasselblad Torino*, as well as companies in the automotive sector such as *Mercedes* and *Fiat*, have supported Antonio Zuccon in projects and exhibitions. His highly successful solo exhibitions include the five editions from 1999 to 2004 of the Quadrigrafie series, the exhibitions “Segni Sognati” (2000 and 2001), hosted respectively at the Casa dei Carraresi in Treviso and Palazzo Frisacco in Tolmezzo, and “Arte e Memoria” (2000) at Palazzo Orgnani Martina in Venzone. On January 23, 2009, he opened the exhibition “The Spirit of the Artist” at Atelier Domenico Cattai in Treviso.
