64x87 Copy of the famous panel preserved in the Capitoline Museums. Opus Nova technique. Private collection 2004
This technique is the modern version of the ancient "Opus Sectile", well documented in the "History of Art" which takes place up to about the end of 300 AD The "pictorial" realization is obtained with a careful selection of the stone material (granite, marble, travertine, onyx, quartzite etc ...) which, when properly used, helps to create the contrasts of color, shades and backgrounds, which give depth, lightness, brightness and movement to the work.
