PECOS BILL
100x100 "Painting-Sculpture" in bas-relief on wooden panel built by hand by the author. Materials used: oil and acrylic paints, epoxy resin, extruded polystyrene, stucco and glues. 2020.
 Inspired by a comic book that I read assiduously during my childhood. "The Legendary Hero of Texas," read the cover title. In my work I transformed this indomitable cowboy knight into an astronaut on the hunt for a new wild planet to "civilize", to tame, because life on our earth is now over, ruined by global warming. This astronaut wears the colors "stars and stripes", colonizers par excellence. For this noble purpose he carries in his hand two whips.
