THE VENICE OF VERONICA FRANCO
Painting on 6 mm glass support, size 80x60 cm.Â
On the central part is fixed a circular porcelain plate with a diameter of 30 cm with a pictorial composition realized with a classical third-fire technique. In a Renaissance setting, a richly coiffed lady walks in an attitude of complicity along the porticoed terrace of a noble Venetian residence overlooking the Grand Canal.
All around there are disks of colored glass and disks of murrine of various diameters, set on small wooden frames of adequate diameter. Besides the panorama and the costumes, clearly Venetian, the lagoon city is present in all the manifestations of its precious artistic craftsmanship.
